2006 Pierre Chainier Vouvray

This Vouvray made from Chenin Blanc was made from vines grown on the North bank of the Loire Valley between Tours and Noizay. It is an off dry wine with a very fruity and slightly minerally complex. The nose shows aromas of honey dew melon, ripe pear, citrus peel, and some white blossom notes. On the palate the wine is slightly sweet and shows flavors of pear, melon, and some soft citrus notes. There is a quick little kick of acid on the finish which I found appealing but the wine is a little short on the finish. Nice wine even though isn't the most complex wine. 85 points
